Membership Categories and Benefits.
WAITI members are placed into one of the following membership categories:
Member, Associate Member, Country Member, Student Member, Life Member,
Honorary Member, Social Member. A full description of each category is

For persons who are actively engaged in interpreting and/or translating and have accreditation at least at NAATI Professional level, or possess tertiary qualifications at Advanced Diploma or higher in interpreting and/or translating. |
Full voting rights; listing in website directory; access to WAITI e–bulletin; CD-ROM Member’s Kit; member discounts; invitations to events; quarterly printed newsletter; access to Member’s only section of WAITI website. |
Associate Members

For persons who are actively engaged in interpreting and/or translating and have accreditation at least at NAATI Paraprofessional level, or possess tertiary qualifications at Diploma level in interpreting and/or translating. Other persons qualified in the field of linguistics or languages, with academic standing and demonstrated interest in the field of interpreting and/or translating may also be admitted under this category. |
As for Members, except listing in the website directory is only available to Associates with accreditation or qualifications in interpreting and/or translating. |
Country Members

For persons who are actively engaged in interpreting and/or translating and have accreditation at least at NAATI Paraprofessional level, or possess tertiary qualifications from an Award Course in interpreting and/or translating, living more than 100 km outside the Perth greater metropolitan area. |
